Lee+Agus+James Trio is collaboration between Lee Jones (guitarist), Agus Batara (piano/ keys), and James Lockwood bringing sophisticated improvisations and lush instrumental jazz from their mix of original and selected jazz and blues standards.
Lee Jones is a British jazz-rock guitarist and composer, combining influences from modern jazz, fusion, blues, avant-garde and rock styles. Lee has regularly performed throughout the UK and worked alongside Larry Coryell, Martin Taylor and Dennis Rollins. Since graduating from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Jazz Course in 2007, he has released six solo albums with former WEA producer Simon Tittley.
Agus Batara is a pianist/ composer drawing his musical style from his Indonesian heritage, classical upbringing, jazz tradition influenced by Melbourne jazz educator; Steve Sedergreen. Since graduating from the London Contemporary Centre of Music, he has performed in many groups and events like at the Wangarattta Blues and Jazz Festival with Jazzatomika (original bebop), and with BLT’s (funk/ fusion) and at the Paris Cat Jazz Club with his own quartet.
James Lockwood is a professional upright bassist and bass guitarist working in a wide variety of genres and performances. Since graduating from VCA, he has performed with countless groups including his own The James Lockwood Trio.
