Gaia Scarf has spent the last few years in the centre of several soundscapes. Starting out young as a Folk singer in the lush Blue Mountains, then melting into the heat of Melbourne’s Nu-Soul and Jazz scene, she has woven multiple threads of influence into the tapestry of her sound: a genre hot-pot of Folk, Soul + Indie. As a soloist, Gaia is dedicated to vulnerability, using story-telling and melody as an outlet for personal revelation. Soulful vocals, atmospheric electric guitar and the occasional mossy textures of her nylon string. Gaia is transparent as she sings on identity, love, family, death and her personal human experience.
