Chthonic is an experimental duo featuring Leon Rodgers on synthesizer and James Titherington on strings. The two explore live looping and improvisatory concepts while crafting deep, gentle, ambient soundscapes to immerse the audience in. Both are established musicians in their own right with backgrounds in composing and improvising, and each brings a depth of knowledge to the project ranging from languages of the Jazz idiom to cinematic scoring that offers at times sensitive and curious movements as well asf playful folk fiddle episodes.

Leon and James initially came together in late 2019 with the desire to explore the concepts of sound and creativity in a deeper way through gesture and interactivity between one another, thus creating completely improvised music and a new piece each time.

Chthonic will offer the audience a chance to be challenged and engaged, or provide a soundtrack to their daydreams. Either way Chthonic is not an act to be missed.
