The Bean Project

From the eastern suburbs of Melbourne come The Bean Project, a vibrant brass-clad quintet blending the raw sounds of folk, jazz and singer-songwriter - most aptly described as 'the odd marriage of James Taylor and The Cat Empire'. The Bean Project formed as a french-horn and acoustic guitar duo, playing small shows and busking up and down the East Coast of Australia. After two EPs and a full length album The Bean Project had grown into a five-piece, performing at Port Fairy Folk Festival, National Folk Festival and Folk Alliance International (USA).

'Gaps' is the first single from The Bean Project's debut album 'Naked Trees' to be released in full on 22nd June 2017. 'Gaps' is available now on Spotify, iTunes and other leading streaming services. Life isn't always major chords and perfect cadences. Sometimes it sucks. Sometimes you're left wanting something a little more.
We met up with the Australian folksters of the Bean Project on a crisp Saturday evening at Folk Alliance International 2017. They laid out a warming set of acoustic jive as the sun set on the beautiful Kansas City skyline. Groove it out with the Bean Project's intimate hotel room performance right here on Live @ KJHK!
