Exceptional songwriting is what has always stood out first and foremost for Melbourne artist Sean McMahon.
Across five albums, including recordings with outfits Downhills Home, Western Union and The Moonmen, he has traversed a musical highway from densely textured alt-country through to an eclectic blend of folk, blues, ‘cosmic’ country and rock and roll.
Largely inspired by the American songbook, its traditions and its champions, his melodic and poetic style of songwriting is loaded with confessional narratives and vivid storytelling that explore and exploit familiar themes, however it's his ability to craft a song and his warm and honest vocals that set him apart.
