Teresa Duffy-Richards writes bare bones songs, ultimately steeped in the vast traditions of folk and country music. It might sound sweet but there's an ever present grit and fragility to her distinct and timeless voice and songs that prods at the most tender of wounds. 2018 saw the release of her debut single 'Mama's Song' before the release of her debut self titled album in March 2019 to warm reception. Featuring a band of stellar musicians, affectionately known as The Fifty Foot Women, it is a collection of carefully crafted songs played out in sparse acoustic duets and full band numbers with over driven electric guitar reminiscent of Neil Young and three part harmony to rival Dolly, Linda and Emmylou. Sitting between the 20th century troubadours (Dylan, Mitchell), Tennessee reared yodellers and golden era country queens, it's music that is comforting in it's familiarities and bold and creative in it's differences. This Ed Castle show will be an intimate duo one of old and new originals with some reworked classic covers.
