Inspired by the likes of Catherine Ribeiro, Patti Smith and Edith Piaf, Esther Rivers will perform her solo brand of crackling, cinematic melodies, dubbed 'romance noir'. Transported by her song, we find ourselves smoking in the caverns of 1970s Paris nightclubs, or wandering with the ghosts of the Chelsea Hotel. As much a sultry chanteuse as a reckless loner, Rivers' voice is an offering.
