LET THEM EAT BAKLAVA

$FREE - BEER GARDEN, but bring cash for the BBQ.

This week: Reggae, Arabic, South Asian, Turkish

SISTA SARA /  Dr KALIMANTAN / MONDO LOCO

It's finally that time of year again when Melbourne puts the sun back into our Sundays sessions, and we're bloody stoked. We've got an incredible international DJ residency planned to kick off summer the right way.

Senor BBQ will be serving Argentinian BBQ with a few twists and added deliciousness to match whatever tunes are pumping!

Curated by Serhan Ali (Mondo Loco), Each Sunday will be focused on a different global flavour.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SISTA SARA - Driven by her passion for Jamaican music, Sista Sara began selecting all styles of reggae from foundation, new roots and dancehall, over 10 years ago.

She is highly respected member of the discerning Australian scene, and over the last 10 years, she has held multiple long-term residencies at many venues in Melbourne. Currently, she is regularly in demand to grace the lineup at some of Melbourne’s most high-profile clubs, events and festivals.

Dr KALIMANTAN - Pradip Sarkar aka Dr. Kalimantan is  a DJ/producer and technology-enthusiast, based in the "Kaza" of Brunswickistan.  With a truly multicultural upbringing (of Indian descent, but grew up in West Africa and South East Asia), he is deeply interested in the connections between the musical cultures of South Asia and the Middle East, in light of the prevalence of micro-scales and poly-rhythms in these regions- a historical connection that can be traced back to the heydays of the Silk Route.

MONDO LOCO - The original TURKISH vinyl mobster. A DJ and vinyl enthusiast focused on 70s underground Anatolian funk and Middle Eastern psychedelia. Expect a journey of global revolutionary madness through the sounds of
Psych Turk-funk, Gunshot Arab breaks, Egyptian Chaabi, psychedelic belly grooves, mutant disko jams and Dabke.
